Kohler expands parking restrictions

by Amber DeFere Review Correspondent

KOHLER – The Village Board added parking restrictions in the village during a short meeting Dec. 18.

The amendment to the parking ordinance prohibits parking on the north side of Lower Road and the west side of Washington Square.

The parking ban was enacted to make transportation for garbage and fire trucks easier while changes to roads in the area are bing made. They were also made with the complications of narrow roads in general in mind.

The board approved the 2018 water and sewer utility budgets, showing water revenue up about 7 percent while water and sewer usage in the village has remained relatively the same.

The cost to repair one of three motor starters on a sewer pump, which is not working, is estimated at $10,000.

The board approved November revenue and expense reports, with trustees noting the village is “catching up in some spending.”

The election officials for the 2018-19 elections were approved.

The board scheduled a special meeting Monday, Jan. 8, to cover information concerning the proposed Aurora Health Care facility.
