Broaddus pours in 34, Resorters cruise
MISHICOT – Senior forward Caleb Broaddus erupted for a career high 34 points to power the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters to an 81-59 rout over Mishicot in boys basketball play here Tuesday night.
The victory was the Resorters’ first in Big East Conference action this season and improved their BEC mark to 1-6 (3-7 overall) and broke a four-game slide. The Indians dropped to 0-6 in the league (0-9 overall).
Broaddus poured in a careerbest seven three-point goals. Senior guard Noah Ruh popped in a personal-high 21 points for Elkhart, including 13 in the second half.
The Resorters drilled a seasonhigh 12 three-balls. Dante Miller, who hit 15 points, made three treys and Ruh canned a pair.
“This win is a big confidencebuilder for the guys. They played real well,” said Resorter head coach Leroy Hamilton.
“It was a collective effort [on offense]. We moved the ball well, shared the ball well and found the open man. Our defense still needs a lot of work.”
Broaddus led EL-G in rebounds with 10. Ruh dished out a team-high seven assists.
Roger Zipperer paced the Indians in scoring with 21.
