Casper leads PHS JV-1 to win

Courtney Casper scored 23 points to spark the Plymouth Panthers to a 49-32 win over visiting Kewaskum in a junior varsity-1 girls basketball game Friday night.

PHS upped its East Central Conference record to 5-2 (11-4 overall). Addie Plate tallied 13 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for the Panthers.

“A very nice game overall as we really took care of the ball and our zone defense in the second half really limited their shot attempts,” said PHS coach Scott Milslagle.

“You can see this team getting better with each passing game and it’s exciting to see them progress.”

On Jan. 9 the Panthers routed host Ripon, 56-24, in ECC play. Casper paced PHS scorers with 14, followed by Plate with 11 and Mariah Fox, 10.

Plate led PHS in boards with nine. Dallas Kreisa, Plate and Casper had a team-high six steals apiece.

In ECC action Jan. 4, host PHS lost to Winneconne, 45-30. Casper keyed Plymouth’s offense with 21 points.

PHS defeated Winneconne, 35-20, in the JV-2 game. Ray Hansen ignited the Panthers’ attack with 21 points. Tara Gilbertson and Carly Kelly added six each.
