Resorters rally to win BEC dual finale

Rebedew won, 11-4, to earn his 100th career victory. – Photo by Mark Schorer MISHICOT – The Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah/ Howards Grove wrestling team climaxed its Big East Conference dual wrestling season with a 45-28 comeback win over Mishicot here Thursday night.

The Resorters trailed 28-12 after seven matches and then stormed back with seven straight wins to close out the meet. The victory upped the Resorters’ BEC record to 4-2 (14-3 overall).

Resorter senior Troy Rebedew earned his 100th career win with an 11-4 decision over Max Hrubecky at 170 pounds.

“Congratulations to Troy Rebedew on his 100th career victory. Troy wrestled very aggressively and was determined to pick up the win,” said Resorter head coach Larry Ward.

Scoring pins for Elkhart were Raistlin Lopez-Lloyd at 132, Ben Meiselwitz at 160 and Josh Schorer at 182. Resorter 145-pounder Max Ward won by a technical fall, 21-4.

“We got some huge first-period pins from Raistlin, Ben and Josh tonight. Cole Entringer was not scored on either in his 7-0 victory,” said coach Ward.

“It is nice to end the conference dual season with a win. As a whole I think we wrestled all right.
