Vang sparks Hilltoppers past Resorters

Nelson won by a major decision, 13-4. – Photo by Mark Schorer MOUNT CALVARY – Davee Vang poured in 28 points and Marcelino Jean hit 22 to power the St. Lawrence Seminary Hilltoppers to a 59-43 boys basketball win over visiting Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Thursday night.

The nonconference victory upped the Hilltoppers’ record to 4-8. The Resorters, who have dropped six straight, fell to 3-13.

Vang was a red-hot 8 of 11 from three-point range. The Hilltoppers shot an excellent 55 percent from the field.

Caleb Broaddus paced Elkhart in scoring with 15 and Justin Schultz hit 12. Broaddus also led in rebounds with six.

Noah Ruh led the Resorters in assists with three and shared the lead in steals with Dante Miller at three each.
