PHS won four events and had at least three place-winners in six events as it amassed 524 points – 111 ahead of runner-up Brillion/Chilton/Valders (413).

Senior Ben Schaefers was a double-winner for PHS – taking first in the 100-yard butterfly in 57.48 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5 minutes, 20.80 seconds.

Plymouth’s other winners included Alec Nicholson in diving with a score of 249.40 points and the 400 freestyle relay team of Dawson Smith, Jaxsen Schermacher, Christian Pieper and Schaefers in 3:26.26.

The diving event included only eight dives instead of the normal 11 because the diving board broke during practice for the final three dives.

“A total team effort and domination by our team,” said Panther head coach Clare Sedlacek.

“We were only seeded first in three events and ended up winning four but our score shows so much about the depth and quality of our team.

“While we had amazing performances by many swimmers, two stand out to me: Christian Pieper, who dropped almost seven seconds off his personal best in the 200 individual medley and jumped all the way to second place, and Ben Schaefers who won both his individual events,” said Sedlacek.

“All our relays were absolutely stellar,” she said.

“Our scores around 250 after eight dives is OK but we need to hit the first dives better to be around 300 at that point,” said PHS diving coach Greg Heberlein.

“I was pleased with their performances, considering the conditions [for the diving venue].”
