Sheboygan Falls Chamber- Main Street is set to stage a mayoral debate between Incumbent Mayor Randy Meyer and challenger Tom Bigler Tuesday, March 6 at the Sheboygan Falls High School auditorium.

The debate is scheduled to run from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Meyer, who has been involved in Sheboygan Falls city government for the past 20 years, is seeking his eighth mayoral term.

After being elected to the Sheboygan Falls Common Council in 1998, Meyer defeated Mayor Dave Specht to earn election to the mayor’s office in 2004 and has served in the position for the past 14 years.

Bigler, who served for 12 years on the Sheboygan Falls School Board from 2001 through 2013, is making his first run for mayor in the city of Sheboygan Falls.

During the 1980s, Bigler served on the Sheboygan Falls Common Council for six years.

For the past 35 years, Bigler has served on the city of Sheboygan Falls Library Board and has been a member of the city of Sheboygan Falls Fire Department for the last 49 years.

In addition, he has served on the city of Sheboygan Falls Board of Review for 10 years.

This is only the second time since 2004 that Meyer has faced a challenge in the mayoral election. In 2014, Meyer fended off a challenge from then Alderman Dan Krueger.

Sheboygan Falls Chamber- Main Street is asking city residents to submit questions for the candidates to answer during the debate.

Mayoral candidate questions can be mailed to the Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street office at 504 Broadway St.; Sheboygan Falls, WI 53085, emailed to chambermnst@sheboyganfalls.org or sent via Facebook on the Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street Facebook page.
