Thomas J. Hayden, of Plymouth, a kind patient and encouraging gentleman passed away at the age of 88 on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center with his loving family beside him.

Thomas was born on July 3, 1929 in Milwaukee a son to the late James and Ethel (Young) Hayden. He grew up in Milwaukee graduating from Nathan Hale High School. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Sergeant. On October 3, 1959 he was united in marriage to Diana Brunette at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He was employed at the VA Hospital at Wood, Wisconsin in the engineering department. He has resided in the Plymouth- Elkhart Lake area for the past 23 years. He enjoyed traveling with Diana to Lake Tomahawk and Florida to vacation and visit friends. He was well known for his humor and love of family. Time spent with his daughters and grandchildren encouraging and teaching them was his passion.

Thomas was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake.

Thomas is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Roger) Voigtlander of Elkhart Lake and Lori (Tom) Malmstadt of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Adam, Amanda and Morgan Voigtlander, Justin and Alicia Malmstadt; a brother, John (Bonnie) Hayden of Arizona and a sister, Kathleen (Marvin) Accetta of Hales Corners. Nieces, nephews and other family further survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana on February 24, 2005.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 AM, Saturday, February 17 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Reifenberg as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Thomas Aquinas North Cemetery. Family and friends gathered at the Church, 94 N. Lincoln St. Elkhart Lake on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11 AM.

Memorials to the Hope Lodge in Marshfield, WI are preferred.
