Food drive planned for Falls pantry

The annual “Ton of Food” community food drive will be held early this year on March 3 and 10. This event is organized by the Kiwanis Club of Sheboygan Falls and supported by the Sheboygan Falls Girl Scouts and Blattner’s Piggly Wiggly, with the goal of collecting food to stock the shelves of the local food pantry during one of the leanest times of year.

All food collected will go to the Sheboygan Falls Food Pantry which services the Sheboygan Falls, Waldo, Kohler, and Howards Grove areas. Participants will gather at Blattner’s Piggly Wiggly at roughly 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Marcg 3 to pick up collection bags and their routes for distribution. These collection bags will be placed on door knobs that morning. The bags will then be collected by group volunteers on Saturday, March 10, roughly between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

It is requested that nonperishable food be outside residents’ front doors before 10 a.m. on the 10th so that teams will be able to pick them up as they make their rounds. Donations can also be left on front steps or porch for pick-up that morning. Additionally, food can be dropped off at Blattner’s Piggly Wiggly in the oversized shopping cart.
