LTC honors career planning professionals

Lakeshore Technical College honored seven educators and business leaders who excel in promoting career planning in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties at the Celebration of K-12 Partnerships on February 22.

Three award categories recognized outstanding educators and businesses for their contributions to career and technical education: LTC Partnership Awards for educators who demonstrate a strong partnership with LTC; Academic and Career Planning Awards for teachers or counselors who are involved in career planning for students; and Education and Business Partnership Awards for busi- nesses who have established partnerships schools in order to expand career education.

LTC Partnership Award recipients included Tina Lemmens, math and computer science technology teacher at Mishicot High School and Dr. Bill Klein, principal of Central High School.

Academic and Career Planning Awards were given to Jacob Sherman, technology education teacher at Plymouth High School; Jamie Brown, school counselor at Reedsville High School; and Beth Roehl, family and consumer education teacher at Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah High School.

Education and Business Partnership Award recipients included Scott Kuehn, technical recruiter for Bemis Manufacturing Company and Jamie Zastrow, executive director for Manitowoc County Home Builders Association.

“We were thrilled to host this fantastic celebration on our Cleveland campus in honor of outstanding educators and businesses who advance career and technical education in our communities,” said LTC President Paul Carlsen. “With their leadership and dedication, more students than ever before are getting the opportunity to become college and career ready while still in high school.”
