The meet was the season opener for the Panthers who finished sixth in the 19-team field with 40 points. Oak Creek was the champion with 98.

Sheboygan Falls took seventh with 38 points. The Howards Grove Tigers placed 16th with four. The Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters didn’t score any team points.

Plymouth’s other top-five finishers included: Gabi Mella fourth in the 55-meter dash in 7.48 seconds; Lauren Rabe, fourth, 400, 1 minute, 7.94 seconds; Hanna Eigenberger, fifth, 400, 1:08.33; 960 relay, third, 2:33.18; 3,200 relay, fifth, 11:36.80; and Mella, fourth in the long jump at 15- 7½.

The 960 relay included Mella, Tournour, Jennifer Novotny and Christiana Hoyt. The 3,200 relay included Izzy Kastelic, Sarah Birenbaum, Allie Gruttner and Morgen Frausto.

Panther head coach Jay Grosshuesch said his team had a nice meet.

“We are still working on getting our athletes into shape and trying to get the ‘kinks’ out of our field events,” said Grosshuesch.

“I was impressed with how well we did in the field events, given our lack of indoor field event facilities, but Cece jumped very well – picking up where she left off last year.

“Gabi also got in a nice long- jump effort. Gabi keyed our sprinting efforts. Lauren and Hanna ran some nice 400s and Amanda [Triebensee] ran a consistent 3,200 race,” said Grosshuesch.

Triebensee placed sixth in the 3,200 in 13:14.86.

The Tigers were led by Steph TeStroete who finished fifth in the shot put with 33-3. TeStroete scored all of HG’s team points.

The Resorters’ best finisher was Peyton Radloff who took 10th in the 800 in 2:48.38.

The North Invitational was the season opener for HG and EL-G.
