Day of Prayer events planned

National Day of Prayer events are scheduled in Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls for Thursday, May 3.

The churches of Plymouth will host a National Day of Prayer breakfast from 7-8 a.m. Thursday, May 3. Everyone is invited to pray with national, state and local leaders who will share their prayer concerns. Attendees will also pray for seven spheres of influence: churches, education, media, family, government, business and safety (police, fire, military, etc.).

The event will be held in the third floor assembly room of Plymouth City Hall, 128 Smith St. A free continental breakfast is provided.

Unity is the theme for the 2018 National Day of Prayer, based on the scripture in Ephesians 4:3: “Making every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.”

Pine Haven Christian Communities, Sheboygan Falls Kiwanis Club and local faith organizations are coming together Thursday, May 3, to hold a community prayer event in celebration of the National Day of Prayer in Sheboygan Falls.

This event will take place starting at 11 a.m. in the Community Center at Pine Haven’s Haven Drive campus. Leaders of local faith organizations will join together to lead participants in prayer and song. Lunch will also be served.

“Great things can happen when we come to God in prayer” said Pine Haven’s community outreach director, Karin Oliver-Kreft. “In today’s troubled times, we need God more than ever. I’m proud to be part of an organization that can help organize an event like this for our community.”
