Cutting the ribbon on the ‘Poppy Lady’ garden

The 70th garden at Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan was dedicated Saturday. The garden (center, below), based on the book “The Poppy Lady” by Barbara Elizabeth Walsh, features 24 small and one large metal poppy created by Dennis Halloran (on cover, with author Walsh (right) and Sheboygan County Council American Legion Auxiliary President Danie Wilson). After American Legion Post 83 and local Poppy Princesses presented the colors (below, left), Walsh spoke about her book. Following a ribbon-cutting (left) with committee members Kathy Halloran, Wilson, Shannon Wynveen, Kathy George, Kay Keys and Teresa Hartle-Feldner, Walsh signed copies of the book at the Secret Garden at Bookworm (below).
