Knaus leads PHS to third in ECC mini-meet

WAUPUN – Cade Knaus tied for fourth to lead the Plymouth Panthers to a third-place finish in the East Central Conference boys golf mini-meet here May 1.

Knaus shot a 5-over-par 41 on the nine-hole layout at the Rock River Country Club. The medalist was Talon Ralph of Kewaskum with a 38.

Kewaskum won the minimeet with a score of 168. Waupun was second at 170, followed by PHS with 176.

The Panthers’ other low players were Alex Heun with a 43, Charlie Aschenbach, 45 and Josh Klister with a 47.

“Cade played well on a tough, windy course. Alex did well, finishing second on the team,” said Panther head coach Dan Knaus.

The Panthers’ varsity and junior varsity teams played in the Campbellsport Invitational scramble tournament April 28. The varsity finished third with an 18-hole score of 61 which was 11 under par. The varsity team was Cade Knaus, Johno Aschenbach, Charlie Aschenbach and Klister. Kewaskum took first with a 13-under-par 59.

PHS finished second in the JV division with an 8-underpar 64. The team included Ben Knaus, Kyle Kraus, Aiden Reilly and Sawyer Hering.
