Resorters breeze to BEC twinbill sweep

ELKHART LAKE – The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters cruised to a doubleheader sweep over visiting Hilbert/Stockbridge, 12-1 and 15-0, in Big East Conference softball action Monday.

Elkhart improved to 6-3 in the BEC (9-5 overall). H/S dropped to 1-8 in league play (3-12 overall).

Hannah Donhauser led Elkhart in RBIs with three in the opener. The Resorters banged out 10 hits, led by Ciara Hassinger, Maddie Schneider, Aryka Klemme and Avery Feldmann with two each.

Megan Waage fired a fourhitter to earn the win. She allowed no earned runs and zero walks while striking out six.

The game was called after 4½ innings due to the 10-run rule.


In the nightcap, Megan Flora twirled a one-hit shutout. The only hit off Flora was a single by Emma Price in the bottom of the third inning. The game was called after three innings due to the 15-run rule.

Flora walked one and recorded two strikeouts.

The Resorters had just four hits but drew 12 walks. Freshman Avery Feldmann slugged a grand slam to highlight an eight-run second.

Feldmann had a team-high four RBIs. EL-G didn’t have any batters with multiple hits. Sydney Brasser led in runs with three.
