Riverdogs fall to Cleveland in league game

CLEVELAND – Charlie Reschke had three hits and Mitch Gardner pitched a four-hitter to propel Cleveland past the visiting Howards Grove Riverdogs, 7-3, in an East Shore Baseball League game Sunday afternoon.

Gardner allowed three earned runs and five walks to go with eight strikeouts. Reschke hit a solo home run, a double and a single.

The game was a match-up of the league’s top-two teams last season. HG defeated Cleveland in last year’s league championship series.

Dylan Callahan ripped a three-run homer for the Riverdogs.

The losing pitcher was Isaac Dirker who started and threw four innings. Dirker gave up five runs on five hits with two walks and one strikeout.
