PHS shot 337 in the 18-hole tournament at Lawsonia’s Woodlands Course. Kewaskum placed first with 315, followed by Waupun at 329.

Knaus shot a 6-over-par 78 which tied Jordan Carlton of Kewaskum.

The medalist was Solomon Zarling of Kettle Moraine Lutheran (Jackson) who carded a 1-over-par 73. The runner-up medalist was Kewaskum’s Jacob Schlosser with 77.

The Panthers’ other low players were Charlie Aschenbach and Alec Nicholson with 86s and Johno Aschenbach with an 87.

“We didn’t quite finish the way we had hoped. Going in tied for second [in the overall point standings] we wanted to beat Waupun and finish second. We played very well on the front nine but couldn’t finish the back nine as well,” said Panther head coach Dan Knaus.

The league’s seven nine-hole mini-meets and 18-hole tourney were used to determine the overall champion. Waupun, which was tied with PHS for second in the overall standings coming into the 18-hole event, took second with 24 points and PHS was third at 26.

Kewaskum, which won all seven nine-hole mini-meets, earned the overall ECC title with nine points.

“Cade played very well. Charlie and Alec played very well on the front nine,” said coach Knaus.

The final mini-meet of the season was held May 15 at the Lake Breeze Club in Winneconne. Kewaskum took first with 151. PHS tied for third with KML at 166.

Zarling took first with an even-par 36. Josh Klister paced PHS with a 40. Also scoring for the Panthers were Knaus with a 41, Johno Aschenbach, 42 and Charlie Aschenbach, 43.
