Panthers’ Schermacher earns silver at state

Schermacher went 14-9 which broke the PHS record of 14-7, set by Joe Krueger in 2003. Kaleb Schuster of D.C. Everest won the gold medal with a 15-0 height.

PHS senior Mason Guell competed in three events at the meet which was also held Friday. Guell finished 10th in the 400-meter dash finals with a time of 50.77 seconds. The top-eight finishers in the finals earned team points in the boys and girls meets.

Guell placed 10th in the long jump with a 21-3½ effort. He also participated in the triple jump where he was 23rd at 40-11¼.

Plymouth had three athletes in the D-1 girls meet. Junior Cece Huhn placed 12th in the high jump at 5-2.

Junior Lauren Rabe finished 19th in the 400 dash preliminaries in 1 minute, .56 seconds and didn’t qualify for the finals.
