The Panthers raised their first-place BEC large-school division record to 13-2 (14- 5 overall). The Crusaders, a member of the league’s smallschool division, fell to 3-10 in the BEC (3-10 overall).

Reilly walked only two and struck out four in five innings. The game was called after five due to the 10-run rule.

“Aiden pitched an efficient 57-pitch game and worked all quadrants of the zone with a variety of pitches,” said Panther head coach Butch Cain.

Taylor Struve and Matt Pohl led PHS in hits with two each. Will Birkholz and Aiden Reilly had a team-high two RBIs each. Birkholz ripped a triple. Plymouth’s other extrabase hit was a double by Aiden Reilly.

Struve, Cooper Gosse, Ben Picard and Pohl paced PHS in runs scored with two apiece. The Panthers drew 10 walks, led by Gosse and Picard with three each.

“We consistently put guys on base throughout the order which allowed us a few opportunities to score and we were able accomplish that in each inning for the first time this season,” said Cain.

“We believe the plate discipline we displayed tonight will pay dividends for us. Our defense played error-free and our guys did a nice job getting to where they needed to be on time.

“Everyone played an important role again this evening,” Cain said.

The losing pitcher was starter Jonah Jurss who lasted only one inning. Jurss allowed two runs (both earned) on three hits with two walks and no strikeouts.

Jurss, Josh Prichard and Jacob Gnan had one hit each for Lutheran.
