UW-S hosts family exhibitors

The University of Wisconsin- Sheboygan Fine Arts Gallery invites the community to visit the campus for the latest Fine Arts Gallery art exhibition, Artwork by three generation artists Alexandria Abel (granddaughter), Sharon Abel (daughter) and Melle Selle (father).

A special artist reception is planned for Friday, July 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. The show runs from July 6 through July 27.

Alexandria enjoys her profession as a video producer with Weidert Group (a business-to-business marketing firm) in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Sharon Abel is an active member of Sheboygan Visual Artists (SVA). Although Sharon dabbles in a variety of artistic media, she consistently returns to her cameras. In addition to her photography, she is known for exuberantly encouraging other artists.

Since retirement, Mel took up wood turning as therapy while receiving chemo for chronic lymphoma. The process is focused. He has the vision and skill set to repurpose scarred wood and other damaged and unwanted raw materials into tables, shelves, bowls, boxes, vases, a chess set, and even a 16-oot cross at the front of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Freedom, Wisconsin.
