Plymouth Pumas win softball tourney title

Plymouth lost the game, 5-3. – Review photo by Greg Ceilley PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Pumas won the 10-andunder age division in the Cheese Town Showdown girls fast-pitch softball tournament, held here June 29-30 and July 1.

The Pumas defeated Kettle Moraine Lutheran (Jackson), 7-5, in the championship game. Ava Miller was selected the Pumas’ Most Valuable Player in the title game.

The champions finished 5-0 in the tourney, including 3-0 in their pool. Pool play was used in the tourney to determine seeding for the single elimination bracket play which ultimately decided the champions in all three divisions.

Laconia won the 12-U division with a 13-11 victory over the Pewaukee Black in the finals. In the 14-U division, Winneconne downed Batavia, 8-6, in the championship game.

Plymouth finished 1-3 overall in the 14-U division and was 1-2 in pool play. Plymouth was 1-3 overall in the 12-U division, including 1-2 in pool action.
