BROOKFIELD – The Sheboygan Falls Falcons used some small ball to trip up Brookfield East 5-3 in a non-conference baseball matchup Saturday, July 10.

Falls built an early 5-1 lead by the fourth inning, while starting pitcher Cole Heili scattered six hits to pick up his third win of the season.

Heili produced 15 fly ball outs, as the Falcons defense played an error-free game. With the victory, the Falls squad improved its overall record to 10-17.

“It was a big win for our program.” Said Falcons coach Todd Struve. “Brookfield is rated sixth in the state and it was one of our better games of the year.”

Bobby Musil scored two runs and was 1-for-2 at the plate to lead the Falcons. Heili was 1-for-3, with a double, one run scored and one RBI. Jake Meyer also scored one run and produced one RBI.

On Friday, July 9, the Slinger Owls scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to drop the Falcons 12-2 in a five-inning run-rule shortened game.

Zach Van Engen and Meyer provided the offense with RBI singles in the top of the fifth inning. Meyer went 2-for-2 to lead the team in batting.

Musil took the loss, pitching three innings, giving up five runs on two hits, striking out four and walking five batters.
