FERRIS E. RUDEBECK

Ferris E. Rudebeck, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Saturday evening, August 18, 2018 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth. He was 83 years old.

Ferris was born October 1, 1934 in Sheboygan, the son of Leslie and Sophie (nee Herzog) Rudebeck. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1953, and went on to work in the Brass Division at Kohler Company for 38 years. Ferris retired in 1996, a proud member of the Quarter Century Club.

On October 31, 1987, he was united in marriage with Vonnie Kreis (nee Dortman) at Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake. Vonnie preceded him in death in 2005

A 25-year member of Grace Lutheran, Ferris had served as an Elder, taught Sunday school, and served on the finance committee as well as President of the Church Council.

Ferris participated in the fellowship and service club, the Hoake Doakes, was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed stockcar racing. He was proud of his children and grandchildren, and supported them in school events and sports. Ferris was friendly and personable, and nobody remained a stranger for long. He enjoyed socializing, and sharing a cold drink with his friends and family.

Ferris is survived by his children: Troy (Lorie) Rudebeck of Sheboygan Falls and Yvonne Baumgartner of Omro, and his grandchildren Michael and Brittany Rudebeck. He is further survived by his brothers Rick (Barbara) Rudebeck of Sheboygan Falls and Bernard (Maureen) Rudebeck of Plymouth, sister Charlotte (the late Jim) Lamb of Sheboygan, Vonnie’s children: Linda Caudill, Kenneth (Rose) Kreis and Gary (Jeannine) Kreis, Vonnie’s grandchildren: Michelle, Sarah, April, Angel, Amber and Noah, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Vonnie and his sister Janet (Bruce) Mueller.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road (Hwy 42 & JJ) in Sheboygan. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ferris will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Sheboygan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church.
