Fifth day to play means school calendar changes

Review Photo by Luke Ulatowski Review Photo by Luke Ulatowski A sledder blazes down City Park’s Cardboard Hill on Feb. 12, Plymouth’s fifth snow day since Jan. 28, the day of a snow storm. The school district was also closed on Jan. 30 and 31 due to the polar vortex, as well as Feb. 7 due to an ice storm.

According to Communications Coordinator Jamie Piontkowski, the Plymouth School District has put together a plan to address the five days missed due to the weather:

• Two make-up days were built into the calendar.

• Three minutes will be added to the start of the day and three minutes to the end at Riverview Middle School and Plymouth High School, beginning Monday Feb. 18 and continuing to the end of the school year. (Fewer minutes are required for elementary school, under state law.)

• The last day of school will be June 6, rather than June 4 as previously scheduled.

Plymouth school closures are reported at as well as on the district’s social media.
